Phrase runs. People decide.
Phrase moves the strings. A dedicated Localization Squad makes the calls, in every language and every release.
We use Phrase ourselves, so we know how it works. Our Localization Squads bring together dedicated linguists, reviewers and project managers who work alongside your team in Phrase TMS and Phrase Strings. The same people stay with your product from one release to the next, getting to know it better over time so you don't have to start from scratch with every update.
No pitch: just a conversation about how you're using Phrase and how we can help.

Phrase provides the tools. We bring the people.
Phrase gives you plenty of AI tools to work with. The challenge is knowing which ones make sense for your content and how to fit them into your workflows. That's where our Localization Squad comes in. We test different quality settings, Orchestrator workflows and Zero-Touch pipelines using your actual content, help you decide what works best, and put the right solutions in place. That includes figuring out what can safely go back to your codebase without manual review.
- Your Phrase setup, not ours. We work in your Phrase projects as vendor or contributor, or through Beluga's Phrase LSP account when vendor delivery fits better. The work stays in Phrase either way.
- Context where it lives. Translators and reviewers work from Phrase context: screenshots, keys and design links. Queries go to your localization lead and get closed there.
- Your cadence. Continuous or per release, in Phrase TMS, Phrase Strings, or both.
- Names, not a queue. You see who works on your account, language by language.
What a Localization Squad brings to your Phrase setup
A Localization Squad is a stable team that keeps product and account knowledge across releases, so no delivery starts from zero. You get the continuity of an in-house team without hiring one. On Phrase, it covers:
- String translation: with the same linguists across releases, working in Phrase
- Reviews: by reviewers per language who know your product
- LQA: when the release needs it, on the live product or in context
- Terminology: kept current in your Phrase term bases
- Project management: beside your localization lead, with queries closed where they started
- Process consultancy: on workflows, steps and who decides what
- Governance: of quality and AI use, with AI and MT matched to content risk and business impact
- Implementation: of the Squad and the workflows you keep in Phrase: setup, tests and handoff
What Phrase provides, and what Beluga adds
| What Phrase provides | What Beluga adds | |
|---|---|---|
| Translation management | Phrase TMS for large, multi-stakeholder projects; Phrase Strings for continuous software and UI copy (Phrase's own split) | A Localization Squad working inside the product you use, with the same people across releases |
| Language AI and MT | Phrase Language AI, MT Autoselect, MT profiles and Bring Your Own engine (Phrase's terms) | Tests on your content to decide which engine and settings fit, with AI and MT matched to content risk and business impact, and post-editing where it changes the outcome |
| Quality signals | Quality Performance Score (QPS) and automated QA (Phrase's terms) | LQA by specialist reviewers per language, and judgment on what a score can and cannot clear |
| Workflow automation | Phrase Orchestrator and Zero-Touch Localization (Phrase's terms) | Governance of what runs with no one in the loop, plus implementation and handoff of the workflows you keep |
| Terminology and context | Term bases, Translation Memory, in-context editing | Terminology owned by people who know your product, plus queries closed with your localization lead |
| People | Vendor-neutral platform: you choose your language partners | Specialist linguists, reviewers, project management and process consultancy beside your localization lead |
How we start
- Talk. A call about your Phrase setup, your languages, your release rhythm and what isn't working. Book it here.
- Access. You give us the access the work needs in your Phrase projects, or we agree to run vendor delivery through Beluga's account. You keep control of your organization and settings.
- Set up. We build your Squad per language, load or clean up terminology, memories and style guides, and agree with you how AI and MT are matched to content risk and business impact.
- Start with a small pilot. We start within a few days, on a small pilot on live Phrase work, so you can judge the quality and the way we work before anything grows.
- Run and improve. The same team takes every release. LQA findings and your feedback go back into terminology, instructions and workflow for the next cycle.
Why teams work with Beluga
- Specialists, with AI in the right place. Every expert is human. That doesn't mean every human is an expert. Our translators, linguists, terminologists and project managers bring the judgment that AI and per-word checks lack, in the gray areas where content goes wrong. We are a specialist service provider, not an AI company.
- Continuity is a quality system. A stable team keeps your product, terminology and stakeholder knowledge, and surfaces problems before they reach the live product.
- You see how it works. Your localization team works directly with Beluga, never through a third-party vendor.
- We work in your Phrase setup as it is. You don't change tools for us.
- Nearly two decades of localization experience, turned into a way of working for product teams that ship continuously.
- Well-paid freelancers. Specialists stay when the work is fair, and continuity starts there.
Inside Phrase every day. We work in Phrase every day as a Phrase customer and LSP. We run ongoing product localization in Phrase for clients who already use the platform.
Work we've done and how we're certified
- Hyperconnect. About 20 languages: first European expansion, then the Asian and Middle East languages, as continuous localization. Read the Hyperconnect case study.
- Infobip. A partnership model where Infobip manages its translators directly and Beluga selects, trains and onboards the linguists, coordinates the work and keeps a contingency plan, so new features ship in every language at once. Read the Infobip case study.
- Headspace. A year of French transcreation for hundreds of hours of meditation audio guides, done in Memsource (now Phrase), with a dedicated team of five linguists and two editors. Read the Headspace case study.
- ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022, certified by LRQA.
- Capacity. About 10,000 words a day per language on the Headspace project, in Memsource (now Phrase).
"[Our project manager] and her team were on time, responsible, communicative, helpful, and efficient with high-quality translations. We are very happy with this collaboration."
Samantha Schulz, Executive Audio Producer – International at Headspace

Considering Phrase, or switching into it?
Already on Phrase, evaluating it, or leaving another TMS? Talk to us before you talk to the vendor's sales rep.
We work inside Phrase every day. We give you user-to-user feedback on fit. If Phrase is the right move, we introduce you as a Beluga lead, so the handoff is warm and you keep control of the relationship. If you are leaving another stack, we help you check whether Phrase, and how Beluga would staff it, matches how your localization team works.
